about
This song was our first song ever written for the project, tracing origins back to the summer 2013. We felt that this made it the perfect fit for our first single on the upcoming EP, Satellites (April 17th, 2020). "Disregard" is about standing up for yourself, knowing your worth, and being there for your friends, even when you know they're not making the best decisions.
lyrics
You don't want it, but you can't stop thinking 'bout it
Every time you think it's okay, you're more wrong each day
And I don't think it's going to get better, no
I don't think it's going to get better
He'll grip you, he'll make you
Think you are the only one, but look in those eyes and
You'll see he's got his sights on
The ones who aren't different; the ones who aren't kind
You know that he'll make you feel left behind
And each and every time you'll listen to her broken cries
About all the times that she was blindsided and you know
That she will never feel better, oh you know
That she will never feel better, better
He'll grip you, he'll make you
Think you are the only one, but look in those eyes and
You'll see he's got his sights on
The ones who aren't different; the ones who aren't kind
You know that he'll leave you with cold, jealous eyes
And you're waiting, and you'll keep waiting
Yeah, he will let you down, so why keep waiting
And you're waiting, and you'll keep waiting
Yeah, he will let you down, so why keep waiting
Disregard the constant scars, you hurting makes this twice as hard
Waiting, and you'll keep waiting
Yeah, he will let you down, so why keep waiting
Disregard the constant scars, you hurting makes this twice as hard
Another girl, another broken soul
She's laying in this bed with him but never felt so cold
