about
The hope and the intention with this song is that it educates those unaware and unites those most affected by the trying times that people of color are facing today and have faced for many, many years. This song is called Face the Light, and it is about amplifying the voices that matter by using your own to sing along. Any proceeds generated by this song for life will go to black rights organizations such as the NAACP.
lyrics
If it's temporary
Then that means that there is time for a change
We push on while lamenting; marching back and forth to an awful clip on replay
And despite the dissenting
Remarks you spit to spread further hate
A riot rips forth
While the hearts of all the people are just filled up with rage
When you feel just like you do
And you see what they don't want you to
It's hard to reconcile
But you just can't look away
We walked outside, we faced the light
We made ourselves known,
We won't give you the throne, and we won't give up our lives
How much is enough
When the boys in blue are caught on display?
What kind of world do we live in
When the pigment of the people is what seals up their fate?
When you kneel 'cause you've got something to prove
And you see that they don't want you to
It's hard to reconcile
When they turn to do the same
We walked outside, we faced the light
We made ourselves known,
We won't give you the throne, and we won't give up our lives
Give up our lives!
We won't give you the throne and we won't give up our lives
Give up our lives!
